It may be early fall, but FedEx Office is already thinking ahead to help jumpstart your small business holiday sales.
Last week’s tweet chat with small business guru Anita Campbell got us up-to-speed on planning essentials and what needs to done for a fail-safe, revenue-generating holiday season for your business, employees and customers.
We shared holiday goal-setting advice, quick tips to avoid last-minute stress and much more during our hour-long chat.
In case you missed it, follow hashtag #SMBHolidayPrep to see an archive of the conversation. We’ve pulled our favorite tips from the chat below to make sure you don’t miss a step.
Lessons Learned:
- Start writing down ideas now! Use note taking tools: Evernote, Google Doc, OneNote, etc. to keep ideas straight and top-of-mind when you’re ready to execute.
- Design unique, holiday-themed decorations to draw in customers. Think curbside or sidewalk signage such as an eye-catching banner or backlit LED posters to make your message “pop.”
- Why not market yourself while you work? Create a custom vehicle magnet with a holiday theme for your delivery vehicle. It’s an easy way to get the word out within your local community.
- On a tight budget? Don’t worry – start by prioritizing what will generate sales. Think creatively and look to past seasons. What drove business last year? What did your customers respond positively to?
And don’t forget to join us and Anita Campbell (@SmallBizTrends) for Part II by following @FedExOffice using hashtag #SMBHolidayPrep on Tuesday, Oct. 28 at 8pmET/7pmCT where we’ll cover even more insider tips and tricks for your small business success!
